Starting on February 2026 our Department Survey Design & Methodology (SDM), Team Scale Development and Documenation located in Mannheim, is looking for two
Student Research Assistants
(13,98 € / 14,87 € hourly rate, 40 hrs./ month, temporary)
The department Survey Design & Methodology (SDM) is both nationally and internationally recognized for its expertise in survey methodology, gained over many years by conducting own research as well as consulting on and implementing renowned survey projects. The Scale Development and Documentation team is responsible for the development, documentation, and quality assurance of social science survey instruments. The advertised positions involve working with Survey Quality Predictor (SQP) software, which supports researchers in developing their questionnaires.
Your tasks will be:
- Support with coding survey items
- Support with expanding the database to include new survey items
- Support with developing a marketing concept for SQP
- Collaboration on creating training and advertising materials in German and English, as well as maintaining the website
Your profile:
- Interest in surveys, especially in questionnaire development
- Very good written and spoken English skills, German skills are an advantage
- Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills, as well as an independent and proactive approach to work
- Knowledge of statistical software (e.g., STATA, R) is an advantage
