Join our Industrial Automation sector, on the IMI Graduate Programme in Alpen, Germany, and gain unique Industrial Automation/Application Engineering experience. In this role, you’ll be working as part of a team of application engineers to develop engineered solutions for customers and where applicable, help specify standard products to meet their needs. You’ll have the opportunity to visit customers to experience first-hand their processes & equipment and understand the challenges they’re trying to overcome. The role will involve using CAD to design systems and working with manufacturing teams to bring those designs to realisation. Experience will be gained working with both pneumatic and electrical industrial control products. By the end of the programme, you’ll have all the skills needed to grow in your Industrial Automation/ Application Engineering career.
You’ll spend two years running and supporting in several areas, on tasks including:
Working closely with our customers and commercial teams to develop systems and solutions for the worlds most demanding engineering challenges
Helping drive the new product strategy by putting the latest IMI developments at the forefront of everything we do
Using your excellent problem solving skills to add value to our customers‘ operations and deliver real change
What you need
You will need a bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Mechatronic or Electrical engineering. We’d also like to see some key qualities in our candidates, including:
A fresh, innovative approach Open to new and varied experiences
Excellent organisation with the ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
Positive approach
and drive to develop
Fluent in written and spoken local language
Must be a German Citizen, a permanent resident or hold a current work visa

Our programme offers the opportunity to work across multiple locations, dependent upon business need, which means you may need to relocate. This could be within the country you’re applying for, sometimes it may be to another country.
