Join our Process Automation sector on the IMI Graduate Programme in Germany and gain unique engineering experience. In this role, you’ll be experiencing a complete design process allowing for experience in every part, working with and for our customers, contributing to our aim of continuous improvement for both our products and processes and learn about the related processes of Engineering so you have well-rounded experience. By the end of the programme, you’ll have all the skills needed to grow in your career either engineering/product design or also e.g., technical customer support or technical sales.

You’ll spend two years running and supporting in several areas, on tasks including:

Study the whole design process from customer requirement review to drawing release for manufacturing, including customers input, design standards & product design guidelines, technical calculations and drawing preparation.
Support Engineering department for collecting information & feedback from customers and coordinating between customers or suppliers and us; work on product improvements and new product development.
Contribute on standardisation of products, digitalisation of processes; cost optimization.
Study the functionality of all products with specific focus in Petrochemical/Refinery and achieve a good understanding of those; gain ability to provide technical support to customers.
Learn about the interaction of engineering with manufacturing/operations, quality management and the related process including production planning, workflow, manufacturing & inspection equipment and methods.

What you need Our programme offers the opportunity to work across multiple locations, dependent upon business need, which means you may need
to relocate. This could be within the country you’re applying for, sometimes it may be to another country.

You will also need a bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronical Engineering. We’d also like to see some key qualities in our candidates, including:
