In our department Neuropeptide Research in Psychiatry, we are looking as soon as possible for an experienced and motivated Postdoc to work on Oxytocin-mediated socioemotional regulation of chronic pain. The candidate has to be a specialist in acute rodent brain slice in vitro electrophysiology (Patch-Clamp recordings and Calcium imaging), as this is essential for the success of this project.
This position will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 1 year with the possibility of an extension.
Your tasks
- Planning and conduction of in vitroelectrophysiology experiments
- Setting up and improving a patch-clamp e-phys setup
- Setting up and improving an in vitro Calcium imaging setup
- Performing optogenetic experiments to release neuropeptides from terminals during patch-recordings of neurons in acute brain slices
- Working with top-notch transgenic rat lines designed to facilitate investigations of the Oxytocin and Vasopressin neuropeptide systems
Our expectations
- High level of experience in Patch-Clamp electrophysiology of acute brain slices
- High level of expertise in Calcium imaging in acute brain slices
- High level of expertise with Optogenetics
- Special expertise in electrophysiological studies of neuropeptide systems
- >3 years of previous Postdoc research experience
- Experience with transgenic rodent models, viral vectors, and conditional Cre/Flp systems
